Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth: What do we do about SIBO?

  • Talk Description: Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) has our attention for some exciting reasons. It’s giving us a framework to understand and better treat Irritable Bowel Syndrome and other SIBO related conditions. Unfortunately, given it’s recent rise to awareness, approaches for diagnosing and treating SIBO often conflict and relapse is common. Working with SIBO can be frustrating for practitioners and patients. The goal of this talk is to arm the practitioner with practical information to work with their SIBO patients and those suspected of having SIBO. Discussion will centre on what current literature and best practices are revealing about SIBO diagnosis, co-morbidities, treatment, and most importantly, trouble shooting poor treatment responses.
